One of the most adventurous and diverse of all the  sports expeditions run by Real Gap, this four week program packed with action and adventure will see you journey from the River Nile’s source in Uganda; travel to the top of Mount Kenya; ride on camel back through the lands of Samburu and be trained to survive in the bush at one of the National Parks of Kenya.   So those of sensitive dispositions and faint-hearts need not apply!

Programme Itinerary

Week 1: Bush Awareness Course
This encounter with the untamed wild is the perfect introduction to the very essence of all that is Africa. Spending your days amongst the Big Five in the rolling savannas and sleeping at night in bush camps under star-studded skies, you will explore this wildlife haven. You spend your time engrossed in various activities ranging from animal tracking to navigation, bush survival, and orienteering.

Week 2: Mt Kenya Hiking Expedition
This is Africa's second highest peak and it offers some of the most rewarding hiking on the continent. However, this is a challenge that must not be underestimated. Standing 5199 metres above sea level, you will trek for several hours each day and camp out at different sites as you gradually reach the summit.

Week 3: Samburu Culture and Camel Trek
After a week of exertion and mental challenges, you will spend this part of the expedition in laid-back fashion, absorbing the culture and surroundings of the ancient Samburu lands. Using local guides and a convoy of camels, you will enter this dry and inaccessible place to witness the history and colours of the proud Samburu people.

Week 4: Nile River Expedition in Uganda
This final leg of your `East African Expedition' takes you exploring the first 100km's of the River Nile's source in Uganda. You begin this exhilarating encounter with four days on some of the roughest commercial white water in the world, with kayaking lessons and river boarding. This is followed by an exhilarating two days on quad bikes exploring the fascinating rural landscape through which this mighty river cuts its path.
